GLIMPSEII v1.0 Source Lists Data Release GLIMPSEII v1.0 Data Products and Data Delivery Document 20070215 ===================================================================== 1. Overview ===================================================================== The GLIMPSEII 20070215 data release is comprised of IPAC Tables of the GLIMPSEII Catalog and Archive for the entire GLIMPSEII Survey region. The nominal GLIMPSEII Survey region is l= -10 deg to 10 deg: b= +- 1 deg from l=350 through 353 deg and l=6 through 9 deg, b=+- 1.5 deg from l=2 through 4 deg and l=355 through 357 deg and b=+- 2 deg from l=0 through 1 deg and l=358 through 359 deg. It excludes the Galactic center area from about l=+- 1 deg, b=+-0.75 deg, which was observed by Susan Stolovy's GO program (PID=3677). The SSC pipeline version used for the GLIMPSEII data in this data release is S12.4.0 from data taken September 2005. The highly reliable GLIMPSEII Catalog (GLMIIC) consists of point sources that are detected at least twice in one band and at least once in an adjacent band and a S/N > 5 cut for the band with the two detections. There are also faint and bright flux limits on the Catalog entries. The more complete Archive (GLMIIA) has less stringent criteria, namely two detections in any bands, those detections having a S/N > 5. The IRAC data were bandmerged with the 2MASS All-Sky Point Source Catalog. See the GLIMPSEII v1.0 Data Products & Data Delivery document for more details. ==================================== Source statistics - v1.0 processing ==================================== AREA # in Catalog # in Archive ------- ------------ ------------ l=10 to -10 deg 15,626,798 20,673,861 ===================================================================== 2. The Catalog and Archive are broken into 1 deg longitude x ~2-4 deg (latitude) areas for the GLIMPSEII survey region. There are 20 Catalog IPAC table files and 20 Archive IPAC table files. Documentation GLIMPSEII Data Products Document v1.0: glimpse2_dataprod_v1.0.pdf, glimpse2_dataprod_v1.0.ps will be delivered soon: IRAC Instrument Artifact Gallery: A gallery of IRAC instrument artifacts that we do correct for and the ones we don't. Existing documentation includes the GLIMPSEI Data Products and Quality Assurance Documents and a document describing in detail our point source photometry steps. Miscellaneous Information ===================================================================== A. The nominal GLIMPSEII Survey region is l= -10 deg to 10 deg, b= +- 1 deg from l=350 through 353 deg and l=6 through 9 deg, b=+- 1.5 deg from l=2 through 4 deg and l=355 through 357 deg and b=+- 2 deg from l=0 through 1 deg and l=358 through 359 deg. Due to the nature of the survey mapping, there are areas outside of the nominal survey region that were observed (and may have incomplete coverage). We provide whatever sources that were detected and pass our source list criteria from outside the nominal survey area. B. There were a few frames that were missing or bad. These areas have been re-observed and the data will be included in future data releases. C. There is a small amount of overlapping area between the GLIMPSEI and GLIMPSEII surveys. On the boundary between GLIMPSEI and GLIMPSEII at l=10 deg and l=350 deg, GLIMPSEI data (SSC processing earlier than S13.2) were bandmerged with the GLIMPSEII data to produce the source lists. The flux calibrations of the SSC processing versions used in the the GLIMPSEI and GLIMPSEII datasets are the same. (For the mosaic images, only GLIMPSEII data are presented.)
